Chesterfield Driving School will provide your teenager with eight hours of classroom instruction and six hours of behind-the-wheel driving training. This will prepare your child to take the driver's test..
The class will be conducted at the Chesterfield Rescue Squad Building on SC Highway #9 (West Boulevard) and Cotton Street. A parent will need to bring each young person to register for the class in order to sign the contract. Class registration is at 7:45 A.M. one Saturday a month. (See Schedule drop down menu.)Classroom instruction is from 8:00 A.M. to 4:15 P.M. Students will be required to eat lunch on the premises; they can purchase lunch from Wendy's Restaurant. Soft drinks and snacks will be provided during class time. Students cannot leave for lunch.
Each person in the class will need to bring his/her S. C. Learner's Permit and social security card to the class. All study materials will be provided during the class. The cost of the class is $300.00; forms of payment accepted are cash, check, money order, or certified check. This fee includes the classroom training and the behind-the-wheel training. (There is no extra charge to use the driver training car to take the license test.) Scheduling of the actual behind-the-wheel training will be done individually by the student after the classroom instruction.
Upon completion of the driver's education course, students should get a reduction in their car insurance.
If you only need behind-the-wheel training (already had a driver's education class) or would like to have extra driving time (beyond the 6 hours), the charge is $25.00 per hour to practice and improve your driving skills.
